The municipality of Houten, near Utrecht in Holland,
commissioned Lucien den Arend to make a sculpture for a raised mound in the central park
which bisects Houten. Den Arend made a construction consisting of large and identical
steel arcs, each having a chord of twelve meters. These virtually perform a
rhythmic dance
up and over the small hill. The total height above ground level is about twenty meters. He
called the sculpture c.y.f.
