TEXT about works
"My work is about the idea of being
engaged, involved.
I work by taking image that I can find in magazines, supermarkets, in the
streets.
I present three different kind of work during this residence in Saksala :
I present drawings about nature:
I think that relation between the human being and nature is getting worst, I
think that people of everywhere
should be more humble with nature because we are one part of nature and we must
live in harmony with it.
So I wanted to present my work about nature as posters similar to the social and
political posters put on the
wall in the streets. I show a fish strike, bears who are like militant and the
sentence «exigeons un culturudum
» wich is a play on word because I transform the word «referendum» with «culturudum»;
this means that
people needs more culture in their life because this is part of our natural way
of living.
I made drawings about war and the contradiction of war:
I was working on making drawings against the idea of war. I do not talk about
any specific war and I do not
think that war is a solution for people. I made one wall painting and also
drawings where one has this sentence
«La bombe est jolie» which is a play on word and means both «the sex bomb is
beautiful» and «the
rocket bomb is beautiful».
I also like drawing simple things with simple tools:
I think that construction, start, development of a work is also a completed
work. I was inspired a lot by stones
laying on the costs of the lakes of Haukivuori and I was drawing the shapes of
this stones which made me
remember to the shapes of human faces."
